2023 Health and Safety Conference

In March 2020, the world was turned upside down when our provinces went into lockdown. CUPE members continued to work under extreme conditions and under increased stress dealing with the pandemic and the worsening staffing issues since.

This conference will cover topics such as harassment, bullying, workplace violence, resilience, and mental health. The conference agenda will be sent later to those who register. The cost of the conference will be $100.00 per member. Space is limited to 200 and is on a first come first serve basis.

Leadership Re-Boot Conference for NB and PEI

CUPE NB invites all members, locals, and executives of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick to a conference to discuss how we lead in 2023 and move into the future!

We encourage all executives to attend and to consider bringing young workers to this event for long-term succession planning for the labor movement and locals. There is limited registration for this event and there is a registration fee of $100.

Weeklong School – CUPE Maritimes

CUPE Maritimes is excited to announce a weeklong school for all members in NB and PEI in person! We are happy to provide a new process where you get to select the workshops that you want to attend, so please make sure to follow the instructions!

Twice daily breaks will be provided .*Note – the Financial Officer Workshop will be the only course that will last 5 days.

This weeklong is meant to be flexible to accommodate all members, so you can join us for the 5 days, or sign up for individual sessions that are listed below.

CUPE PEI – 43rd Annual Convention

43rd ANNUAL CONVENTION

May 25 – 26, 2023

  • Registration will take place between 9:00 and 10:00 am on May 25th
  • There will be an information session for all New Delegates in the Cardigan Room at 8:00 am on May 25th, 2023 (ALL ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND)
  • Convention proceedings will begin at 10:00 am May 25th, 2023, and will continue until 4:00 p.m. or until business concludes on May 26th
  • The evening of May 25th, 2023 – Buffet Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm, In the Georgetown-Montague room followed by a gathering in the Roseneath Room. Dinner is covered by CUPE PEI for all registered delegates. For guests of members who wish to have the evening dinner the cost will be $65.00
  • The cost of $65.00 per delegate is required for lunches for both days.

  • Registration will be $125.00 per delegate.

  • There are two Committees that require delegate representation – Resolutions Committee and Constitutional Resolutions Committee. If any of your delegates are interested in serving on one of these committees; please attach a note, signed by the Local President, to the delegate’s credential – stating which committee the delegate is interested in serving on.
  • A Draft Agenda, along with all submitted resolutions, and minutes of last year’s Convention will be forwarded to the President of each local by April 25. It is the responsibility of the Local President to provide local delegates with copies of all Convention documents.
  • A copy of the Constitution is available to download from the website: cupepei.ca

RESOLUTIONS – Deadline April 10th, 2023

“As per Article 5.7 of CUPE PEI’s Constitution, all resolutions to be considered at Convention must be properly worded, typed or clearly written/printed and submitted by a Local Union and must be in the hands of the Division Secretary forty-five (45) days prior to Convention.  The deadline is April 10th, 2023. All resolutions must be submitted under the letterhead of the local and signed by the Presiding Officer and Secretary.”

42nd Annual CUPE PEI Convention

The 42nd Annual CUPE PEI Convention will be held in person at Rodd Crowbush, from May 26 to May 27, 2022. This Convention will be in a hybrid format, with a virtual option for those delegates who prefer it.

Credentials have been mailed to each President and are due back to Linda Jones with registration payment by April 30th, 2022.
