Charlottetown City Council End the Strike Now Rally!
Charlottetown City Council End the Strike Now Rally!
Event by CUPE PEI
199 Queen St, Charlottetown, PE C1A 4B7, Canada
On October 28th, Charlottetown City Council is having a Special Meeting, and we’re having a rally to send them the message that the only agenda item they should be discussing is giving a new mandate to their bargaining team to END THE STRIKE NOW!
CUPE National President Mark Hancock will kick off the rally at 4pm outside City Hall! Come hear some inspiring words and make some noise to stand up for public services and the workers that provide them!
City of Charlottetown Water and Sewer workers have been on strike since July 28 – almost 90 days now, and the only action this city council has taken is to vote no to even hearing a presentation from these dedicated workers.
Solidarity Rally in support of CUPE Local 830!
Friday, Sept 26th marks 60 DAYS ON STRIKE for CUPE Local 830. Come join CUPE PEI and the PEI Federation of Labour at NOON at Boulder Park (beside Province House) to express your solidarity with these 27 workers, who are standing up for their job security, human rights, and fair wages.
The City of Charlottetown Council refuses to step up and take action to end the strike — let’s let them know we won’t settle for a complacent council, and these workers aren’t backing down!
