Charlottetown City Council End the Strike Now Rally!

Charlottetown City Council End the Strike Now Rally!

Event by CUPE PEI

199 Queen St, Charlottetown, PE C1A 4B7, Canada

On October 28th, Charlottetown City Council is having a Special Meeting, and we’re having a rally to send them the message that the only agenda item they should be discussing is giving a new mandate to their bargaining team to END THE STRIKE NOW!

CUPE National President Mark Hancock will kick off the rally at 4pm outside City Hall! Come hear some inspiring words and make some noise to stand up for public services and the workers that provide them!

City of Charlottetown Water and Sewer workers have been on strike since July 28 – almost 90 days now, and the only action this city council has taken is to vote no to even hearing a presentation from these dedicated workers.

🚨 BOYCOTT ALERT: Island Coastal & Affiliates 🚨

CUPE Local 830 water and sewer workers in Charlottetown have been on strike for over 65 days, fighting for fair treatment and respect. While they stand strong, Island Coastal has stepped in to take over their work, undermining the strike and the workers’ fight for justice.
This is a blatant act of strikebreaking. Taxpayer-funded public services are being handed to private, for-profit companies.
❌ Boycott Island Coastal and its affiliated businesses:
  • Andersons Creek Golf Club
  • Golf Mania PEI
  • Green Gables Golf Club
  • Mountain Woods Golf Club
  • Forest Hills Disc & Golf Course
  • BJ’s Truck Centre
  • Island Hydrovac Services

✊ Stand with CUPE 830. Support public workers.

CUPE 830 Calls for Boycott of Island Coastal Services

Island Coastal Services is performing scab labor during the strike of the CUPE Local 830, taking over work that rightfully belongs to Charlottetown’s unionized water and sewer workers. This undermines the fight for fair wages and respect.

CUPE 830 stands united. We urge the public to boycott ICS and support the workers who keep this city running
